Cascade cutting technology is a method of cutting charts generation that allows to recut automatically separate charts with bad characteristics that do not meet the optimization requirements set by the user. For this purpose the user specifies new local scale of criteria and local technological settings that are applied only to designated charts. Then recurrent cutting operation will be fulfilled for the panels of these charts without changing the rest. If charts number is still not sufficient for the user, the procedure will be repeated again for new charts. Recurrences number is not restricted. As practice shows, during cutting of a big number of panels it is required from one to three cascade cutting iterations for essential improvement of cutting charts characteristics.

Technology of fixed cutting level is a special method that allows to generate cutting charts and provide optimal load of the whole cutting machine base. If there are several machinery types at the enterprise it allows to realize two variants of cutting charts for sawing machines:

  • Cutting with surplus - all the charts are optimized for processing on a saw. In this case surplus parts data will be saved in database.
  • Precise cutting includes two kinds of charts: for saws and for round-saws that allow to cut one material sheet at a time.

Technology of parts optimal stacking allows to get parts in cutting area according to further processing areas requirements. To optimize the work of milling and edge coating machines, it is necessary to minimize resets number. From the point of view of cutting charts generation it means that restriction on parts number of different nominal sizes on one sheet should be taken into account. This technology use allows:

  • to use less production space for parts storing;
  • to minimize operator errors that may occur due to parts sorting by nominal size;
  • to provide balanced load of all the equipment.

Technology of phased (strip) cutting means cutting division into two technological operations: board cutting into strips on one machine, and then strips cutting on another. Such cutting conditions are specified by the user. Practice shows that phased cutting technology competent application is an efficient tool for balanced load of all cutting machinery. Its implementation does not influence qualitative characteristics of cutting charts but it allows to increase machinery productivity by 30%.

Cutting buffering is a tool that provides cutting charts manual editing correctness if it necessary to transfer the parts among the charts so that to cut different number of boards. All moved parts are buffered, and used ones in new charts are taken from buffer. It means that empty buffer is condition for cutting completion correctness. Otherwise the program will reveal cutting completeness failure. It can be ignored, but then the technologist should take overall responsibility for all possible consequences.
